The problem
Automatic transcription is only the beginning of captioning a video. Creators also need to correct words, control their timing, make captions readable, and deliver the right format. Polley Captions puts those steps in one Windows application.
A workflow with user control
Transcription starts when the user chooses Start analysis. Fast, Balanced, and Accurate options support different needs, while re-analysis asks for confirmation before replacing corrections. Existing SRT or VTT subtitles can also enter the same editing workflow.
Editing and playback
Users can correct individual words, insert missing text, search and replace, and undo changes. Caption styling is previewed over playable video, with controls for typography, color, outlines, backgrounds, wrapping, placement, and timing. Karaoke captions use word timing in both preview and export.
Engineering focus
The core design connects automated speech analysis with an editable representation of words, groups, styles, and timing. Processing and transcription run locally after the selected speech model is downloaded. Saved projects let users return to corrections and styling without starting again.
The result
The application supports a complete caption workflow, from speech or imported subtitles to UTF-8 SRT or an H.264/AAC captioned MP4. The product page includes a working-software video and details of the editing interface.
